Visual explanation · Lane change

An offered gap still needs to fit

Question recap: Another driver slows but the offered space is still uncertain.

Correct answer

Stay in your lane until the space clearly fits.

Why this is correct

A driver may be slowing for a reason unrelated to you. Even deliberate courtesy cannot show whether the blind area or space ahead is clear.

Use the opportunity when it becomes adequate, after checking. You do not need a gesture to decide, and a gesture does not grant priority.
