2. What data do we process?
Website hosting and security
The website is hosted by STRATO. When the website is visited, technical server logs may be created. These can include the IP address, date and time, requested page or file, browser information and technical error data. STRATO states that visitor IP addresses are retained for attack detection and prevention for a maximum of seven days.
Analytics data — only after consent
When you choose Allow analytics, Google Analytics 4 may process information such as:
- pages viewed and approximate time of interaction;
- events such as scrolling and clicks on the Payhip purchase buttons;
- referring website or campaign information;
- device category, browser, operating system and language;
- approximate geographic information, such as country or region.
Google states that Google Analytics does not log or store individual IP addresses from users in the EU, Switzerland or the UK. IP information is discarded before it is logged and is used only for functions such as approximate location and service security.
Emails, support and review submissions
If you email us, we process the email address, message content and any information you voluntarily include so that we can answer your enquiry, help with a download, handle a privacy request or review feedback you submit.
The review form on the website does not send data to our web server. When you press Send review, it opens a prepared message in your device’s email application. The information is sent only when you choose to send that email.
If you consent to publication, we may publish your review with the name and city you supplied. We may make minor spelling or length edits without changing the meaning. You may later ask us to remove a published review by emailing privacy@drivingtestdecoder.nl.
Purchase, verification and delivery information
For a purchase through the main checkout, Paddle collects the checkout details needed to act as Merchant of Record and process the transaction. After Paddle confirms a completed purchase, Driving Test Decoder receives the transaction reference, product and price identifiers, customer identifier, completion status and technical event reference. The delivery system then requests the customer email address from Paddle so it can send the private download link and provide order support. Driving Test Decoder does not receive complete payment-card details.
The private delivery system stores a limited order record outside the public website folder so that it can verify the purchase, create and track a one-time download link, record delivery status and prevent repeated fulfilment. The link is tied to the verified purchase. If automatic delivery fails, the order record remains available for support and retry handling.
If you choose the clearly labelled Payhip fallback instead, Payhip operates that separate checkout and digital delivery flow. Payhip may provide Driving Test Decoder with the order information needed to fulfil and support that purchase. Payhip and its payment providers handle the payment details used there.
Social-media links
The website contains ordinary links to TikTok and Threads. No social-media content is embedded on the page. If you follow one of these links, the relevant platform will process data under its own privacy policy.
3. Google Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 with measurement ID G-WXZGG7V9SS to understand how the website is used and whether visitors reach a guide purchase route. Advertising storage, advertising personalisation and advertising user-data signals are disabled in our website code.

4. Purchases, payment and private delivery
Main checkout through Paddle
Paddle is the Merchant of Record for orders placed through the main checkout. This means the buyer contracts with Paddle for the transaction and Paddle handles payment processing, applicable tax calculation and collection, invoicing and its buyer terms. The Paddle overlay is a separate checkout environment with Paddle’s own privacy and cookie practices. Read Paddle’s Privacy Notice.
After a verified payment event, Driving Test Decoder fulfils the purchase through a private download process on this website. A one-time download link is sent to the email address held by Paddle. That address is used for fulfilment and purchase support, not for marketing.
Optional marketing consent
Buying a product or downloading the free checklist does not add you to a marketing list. The separate trainer update form is optional, requires its own consent and email confirmation, and is covered by the trainer email privacy notice.
Payhip fallback
The checkout page also offers a clearly labelled Payhip fallback. If you choose it, you leave this website and Payhip provides that checkout and digital delivery. Payhip’s own privacy and cookie choices apply there. Read the Payhip Privacy & Cookies Policy.

7. How long is data kept?
- Consent preference: until you change it or clear browser storage.
- STRATO security IP logs: STRATO states that visitor IP addresses used for detecting and preventing attacks are kept for no more than seven days.
- Google Analytics user-level and event-level data: 2 months. Aggregated standard reports may remain available for longer under Google Analytics reporting rules.
- General email enquiries: only for as long as reasonably needed to answer the enquiry, provide support, meet a legal obligation or deal with a dispute.
- Reviews: unpublished submissions are kept only while they remain relevant to review handling. Published reviews may remain visible until they are no longer relevant or you withdraw publication consent.
- Purchase and delivery records: for as long as needed to fulfil and support the purchase, prevent fulfilment abuse, handle refunds or disputes, and meet applicable legal record-keeping duties. Paddle and Payhip apply their own retention rules to data they control.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:
- request access to your personal data;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- request deletion or restriction of processing;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive certain data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal;
- submit a complaint to a data-protection authority.
We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Rights are not absolute and legal exceptions may apply.
