Privacy & Cookie Policy

Last updated: 5 August 2026

In plain English: Driving Test Decoder uses Google Analytics only after you actively allow analytics cookies. You can use the website and buy the guide without agreeing to Analytics. Purchases are completed on Payhip, and payment details are handled by Payhip’s payment processors.

1. Who is responsible for your data?

Driving Test Decoder, operated by Sofia Mender in the Netherlands, is responsible for personal data processed through drivingtestdecoder.nl and for customer support relating to the guide.

Privacy contact: privacy@drivingtestdecoder.nl

2. What data do we process?

Website hosting and security

The website is hosted by STRATO. When the website is visited, technical server logs may be created. These can include the IP address, date and time, requested page or file, browser information and technical error data. STRATO states that visitor IP addresses are retained for attack detection and prevention for a maximum of seven days.

Analytics data — only after consent

When you choose Allow analytics, Google Analytics 4 may process information such as:

  • pages viewed and approximate time of interaction;
  • events such as scrolling and clicks on the Payhip purchase buttons;
  • referring website or campaign information;
  • device category, browser, operating system and language;
  • approximate geographic information, such as country or region.

Google states that Google Analytics does not log or store individual IP addresses from users in the EU, Switzerland or the UK. IP information is discarded before it is logged and is used only for functions such as approximate location and service security.

Emails, support and review submissions

If you email us, we process the email address, message content and any information you voluntarily include so that we can answer your enquiry, help with a download, handle a privacy request or review feedback you submit.

The review form on the website does not send data to our web server. When you press Send review, it opens a prepared message in your device’s email application. The information is sent only when you choose to send that email.

If you consent to publication, we may publish your review with the name and city you supplied. We may make minor spelling or length edits without changing the meaning. You may later ask us to remove a published review by emailing privacy@drivingtestdecoder.nl.

Purchase and order information

If you buy the guide, the checkout and delivery are handled through Payhip. We may receive information needed to fulfil and support your order, such as your name, email address, product purchased, transaction status and purchase date. We do not receive your complete payment-card details.

Social-media links

The website contains ordinary links to Instagram, TikTok and Threads. No social-media content is embedded on the page. If you follow one of these links, the relevant platform will process data under its own privacy policy.

3. Google Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 with measurement ID G-WXZGG7V9SS to understand how the website is used and whether visitors reach the Payhip purchase page. Advertising storage, advertising personalisation and advertising user-data signals are disabled in our website code.

Analytics is blocked before consent. The Google Analytics script is not loaded and Analytics data is not sent from this website until you select Allow analytics.
Technology Purpose Duration
dtd_analytics_consent in browser local storage Stores whether you allowed or rejected Analytics so the website can remember your choice. Until you change the choice or clear browser storage.
_ga and a property-specific _ga_… cookie Used by Google Analytics to distinguish browsers and maintain session information after consent. Up to 2 years; the expiry may be refreshed when Analytics events are sent.

Google provides more information in its Privacy Policy and its information about EU-focused Analytics data processing.

4. Purchases through Payhip

Purchase buttons redirect you to Payhip. Payhip provides the checkout, digital delivery and transaction administration. Payments are handled securely by the payment processor offered during checkout. Payhip states that payment-card details are not collected by Payhip and that sellers are informed when a customer purchases or downloads their product.

The Payhip checkout is a separate website. Payhip’s own privacy and cookie choices apply there. Read the Payhip Privacy & Cookies Policy.

6. Who receives data?

Depending on how you use the website, data may be processed by:

  • STRATO, as website and email hosting provider;
  • Google Ireland Limited and Google group companies, when you consent to Google Analytics;
  • Payhip and its payment processors, when you visit the checkout or buy the guide;
  • professional advisers or public authorities where disclosure is legally required.

Some service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, the provider must use a recognised transfer mechanism or another legally permitted safeguard. Google states that it participates in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and also uses applicable contractual safeguards.

We do not sell your personal data.

7. How long is data kept?

  • Consent preference: until you change it or clear browser storage.
  • STRATO security IP logs: STRATO states that visitor IP addresses used for detecting and preventing attacks are kept for no more than seven days.
  • Google Analytics user-level and event-level data: 2 months. Aggregated standard reports may remain available for longer under Google Analytics reporting rules.
  • General email enquiries: normally no longer than 2 years after the conversation ends, unless longer retention is necessary for a dispute or legal obligation.
  • Reviews: unpublished submissions are normally kept for no longer than 2 years. Published reviews may remain visible until they are no longer relevant or you withdraw publication consent.
  • Purchase, tax and accounting records: for the period required by applicable law and as needed to handle support, refunds, disputes or legal claims.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:

  • request access to your personal data;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • request deletion or restriction of processing;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • receive certain data in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal;
  • submit a complaint to a data-protection authority.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Rights are not absolute and legal exceptions may apply.

9. Contact and complaints

For questions or to exercise your rights, email privacy@drivingtestdecoder.nl.

You may also complain to the Dutch supervisory authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the website, service providers or legal requirements change. The latest version will always be published on this page with its revision date.
